I have been waiting for this session for MONTHS! My very good friend and her husband have been expecting their baby for 8 months now! I had the pleasure (and laughter) of photographing this important moment in their lives for the very first time!
Scott and Ashleigh have such a connection with each other, this session really was a joy to be able to do! They were making jokes and laughing the entire time! Such a joy to see such a happy mother and father to be!
The Stranaly’s have decided to wait until the baby arrives to see if it will be a boy or a girl. So stay tuned for followup photos when the baby arrives!
This year for Christmas we were not able to travel north to a land where the ground is typically covered in snow. We did have some visitors who enjoyed the cooler weather of ‘Northern Florida’. We were blessed with a visit from my oldest sister Tina. While she was here we took a trip to the Gulf Breeze Zoo in hopes to see the baby Giraffe. Due to the cold and rainy weather the baby was not able to make a public appearance. We did enter to ‘name the baby boy’ – We chose Geri (said Jerry) to represent the Somali name for giraffe – and also to go along with the G theme of his family. We did enjoy many other critters while we were visiting. Despite being chilly and slightly wet – we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Gulf breeze zoo!
Since our move to Crestview, Florida less than a month ago, I have not had many people as subjects for my photography – so I have taken to photographing the wonderful crop that is growing in our new greenhouse! I am very eager and excited to learn about growing and harvesting Papayas, tangerines, grapefruits and much more! My husband and I went out and collected our first crop the other day! While doing so we found an abandoned birds nest tucked into the grapefruit tree! As I do enjoy capturing our move to Florida, I cannot wait to have people as subjects again! :)
Swinging Gate Photography has relocated to sunny Florida!! I am very excited about this move and all of the beautiful new areas including Crestview, Pensacola and Destin that I will be able to use as a backdrop for photo shoots! I am very excited to explore and learn about the area and the wonderful people who fill it!
I would like to extend a 40% off ‘New to You’ Discount to any new clients who book a session in November or December. I look forward to meeting and serving the local community!
As a military wife I am often missing my husband, so one of my favorite things to capture is a loved one returning home from overseas! It is such an amazing feeling to know they are safe, they defended our country, and that you can hold them in your arms again and be with them every day!
Skyler and Westley are high school sweethearts and this was their first deployment together. Skyler and I waited ‘patiently’ for the plane to land, watched a beautiful sunset, and had a couple hours to watch ‘The Vow’ (not a movie I would recommend while waiting during an emotional time ;).). And when the plane did land and the group of men arrived home from Afghanistan it was such a joy!
As Skyler was eagerly searching for her husband in the crowd Westley snuck around and surprised Skyler from behind! Then he very romantically walked her back to the location where he had departed from and asked her if she remember the location, to which she responded “Yes, I don’t like it. This is where I last saw you.” It was all so sweet!
This happy husband and wife are back together spending every day they can by each others side! Welcome home soldier!
The Hales Family are such an amazing bunch! It has been such a pleasure getting to know this family and become such good friends with them. I have enjoyed seeing them grow as individuals and as a family. It is always such a joy to spend time with them as they are always happy and having so much fun! I will miss them when they move-it has been such a blessing to have them in my life!
